i18nMate ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our VS Code extension and related services (collectively, "the Service").

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Data You Submit for Translation

When you use i18nMate to translate JSON locale files, we process the text content of those files through our AI translation service. This includes:

• JSON keys and values from your locale files
• Target language selections

We do NOT access: your source code, file system structure, git history, or any files other than the specific JSON locale files you select for translation.

2.2 Account Information

If you subscribe to the Pro plan, we collect through our payment provider (Paddle):

• Email address
• Subscription status and payment history

We do NOT collect: credit card numbers, bank details, or full payment information. All payment data is processed securely by Paddle.

2.3 Usage Data

We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the Service:

• Number of translations performed
• Languages used
• Error rates and performance metrics

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the translation service
• To enforce usage limits on free and paid plans
• To communicate about your subscription (if applicable)
• To prevent abuse and ensure service security

4. Data Processing and Third Parties

4.1 AI Translation Provider

Translation requests are processed by third-party AI language models. Only the text content of your JSON values is sent — never your source code or project structure. Your translation data is not used to train AI models.

4.2 Payment Processing (Paddle)

Payment processing is handled by Paddle.com, a PCI-DSS compliant payment provider. Paddle collects and processes payment information independently. See Paddle's Privacy Policy for details.

4.3 Cloudflare

Our backend API is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may process request metadata (IP addresses, headers) as part of their CDN and security services.

5. Data Retention

• Translation data: Not stored. Translation requests are processed in real-time and not retained after delivery.
• Account data: Retained for the duration of your subscription and deleted within 30 days of account closure.
• Usage analytics: Aggregated and anonymized; no individual user data is retained long-term.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, including:

• HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
• Secure token-based authentication
• Minimal data collection — we only process what's needed

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Cancel your subscription at any time
• Object to data processing for legitimate interests

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place with all third-party processors.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
